Field Commissioning Specialist - Environmental Sector

Location: Chichester

Role Overview:

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Field Commissioning Specialist to become part of the team at Galliford Try. The ideal candidate will be situated in or near the West Sussex / Hampshire region and will have the chance to travel across various sites and projects within the area. The main objective of this position is to oversee the planning, execution, and documentation of commissioning tasks on projects and programs, ensuring all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with both Client and Galliford Try protocols, systems, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Client commissioning representatives to formulate the Design Phase Commissioning Plan, leading to the creation of the Delivery Phase Commissioning Plan.
  • Facilitate and document commissioning meetings regularly.
  • Coordinate site commissioning efforts to meet project-specific requirements and timelines.
  • Ensure all commissioning documentation is completed and accessible within the Common Data Environment.
  • Establish a training plan in conjunction with the Client.
  • Lead the reliability and performance testing phase of the project.
  • Assist the Project Manager in addressing any post-completion defects.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in the effective and safe commissioning of intricate projects within the water sector.
  • Strong financial and commercial insight.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Systematic approach to resolving complex challenges.
  • Capability to produce concise reports.
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Thorough understanding of sewage and water treatment processes.
  • Clear comprehension of the structured commissioning process.
  • Ability to implement formal safety systems.

Essential Qualifications:

  • CSCS or ECS card in a relevant discipline.
  • EUSR Water Hygiene Card.
  • CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS).
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Confined Spaces Entry (Medium Risk) certification.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Requirements for Electrical Installations certification.
  • COMPEX / DSEAR Awareness.
  • Certified PROFIBUS Installer.
  • PROFIBUS Commissioning and Maintenance certification.
