About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning & Contract Officer to join our team at West Sussex County Council. As a key member of our Adults Commissioning Service, you will play a vital role in ensuring that people can access good quality services that enable them to live their lives as independently as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with providers and other professionals to ensure services are responsive and meet needs.
  • Support the implementation of commissioning plans and contract management processes to improve quality and outcomes for individuals, achieve value for money, and ensure the best use of resources.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders and partners to build positive relationships and achieve shared goals.
  • Travel around the county independently to visit locations, as some areas are not easily accessible by public transport.

Person Specification

  • Experience of providing support in a public sector commissioning and/or contracts setting.
  • Some knowledge of community-based social and health care services and regulation.
  • Experience of working as part of a team, independently, and with a range of professional groups.
  • Experience of working in the adult social care sector, particularly having experienced the perspectives of people who access social care services.
  • Some experience of working in an office environment with an understanding of the associated processes and procedures.
  • Experience of delivering or coordinating a quality customer-focused service.

Qualifications

  • HNC/Level 4 qualification or equivalent qualification or experience demonstrating that level of numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
