Position Overview

Leaders In Care Recruitment Ltd is seeking a dedicated Substance Misuse Nurse to become a vital part of our esteemed Community Drug and Alcohol Misuse Charity. This role is situated within our specialized Addictions Clinic, providing an exceptional opportunity for Registered General Nurses (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) who are passionate about the field of Substance Misuse treatment.

Role Responsibilities

As a Substance Misuse Nurse, you will be working in a dynamic detoxification environment, focusing on delivering frontline clinical care to service users. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive rehabilitation processes.
  • Administering vaccinations, including BBV screening and HIV/Hepatitis B/C screening.
  • Performing ECGs and managing alcohol and opiate detoxification.
  • Engaging in health promotion and rehabilitation initiatives.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • RGN or RMN qualifications with relevant nursing experience.
  • A demonstrated interest or experience in addiction services.
  • Experience in titration is highly desirable.
  • Current and valid NMC registration along with the legal right to work in the UK.

While prior experience in addictions is not mandatory, candidates must showcase their enthusiasm for this nursing specialty and illustrate how they have developed relevant skills and knowledge in Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services.
