Join Our Team as a Substance Misuse Nurse

A prestigious Community Drug and Alcohol Misuse Charity is seeking a dedicated Substance Misuse Nurse to become part of their specialized Addictions Clinic. This position offers a remarkable opportunity for Registered General Nurses (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) who are passionate about Substance Misuse care.

As a Substance Misuse Nurse in a dynamic detoxification environment, your primary focus will be on delivering essential clinical support to service users, guiding them through a comprehensive rehabilitation journey.

Preferred Qualifications:

While experience in the following areas is advantageous, it is not mandatory:

  • Administering vaccinations, including BBV screening and HIV/Hepatitis B/C testing
  • Conducting ECGs
  • Facilitating alcohol and opiate detoxification
  • Promoting health and rehabilitation
Ideal Candidate Profile:

The perfect candidate will have:

  • RGN or RMN qualifications with relevant experience
  • A demonstrated interest or experience in addiction treatment
  • Experience in titration is highly desirable
  • Current and valid NMC registration and legal eligibility to work in the UK

While prior experience in addiction services is not a prerequisite, candidates must exhibit a genuine interest in this nursing specialty and articulate how they have pursued relevant experience and transferable skills in Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services.
