About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HSE Advisor to join our established HSE Team in Southampton. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our service meets the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and guide colleagues on various HSE matters, promoting a positive culture and best practice.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, driving the development of a robust health, safety, and environmental management system.
  • Deliver continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental standards and practices, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Incident recording and tracking of determined actions, ensuring effective risk management and mitigation.
  • Manage the Risk & COSHH assessment databases, safety data sheet listings, and new starter inductions.
  • Internal HSE auditing on all three standards (ISO 45001, 14001, 50001), and follow-up with corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present Balanced Scorecard (BSC) reports, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  • Support HSE Representatives meetings, preparation, and minutes.
  • Update emergency preparedness arrangements and training, ensuring business continuity.
  • Review and update documents, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and record energy and waste management, ensuring sustainable practices.
  • Ensure the HSE notice board is kept up to date, promoting a culture of transparency and accountability.
Requirements
  • Ability to achieve SC level clearance.
  • Proven track record of delivering HSE improvements and enhancements.
  • Knowledge of ISO Management System standards (ISO 14001, 45001, and 50001).
  • Experience of running and auditing HSE management systems.
  • Understanding of safety culture development and promotion.
  • NEBOSH General certification, with a strong desire to achieve NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ level 6.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work at all levels.
  • Computer literacy, with a strong understanding of MS Office packages.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel and work at other sites, as required.
  • Good presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
  • Experience of Business Continuity planning and management.
