We are seeking a warm and approachable individual to lead the activity sessions at our Dementia Cafes.


Dementia Cafes Overview:


Our Dementia Cafes provide a welcoming environment for individuals living with dementia and their family members or unpaid caregivers to enjoy a lively, social afternoon.

Food, activities, and entertainment are included.

Wandsworth Carers' Centre operates two monthly cafes in the area, offering a supportive space for connection and engagement.

The cafes run for 2 1⁄2 hours and feature a structured activity for those with dementia, a peer support group for caregivers, and group entertainment for all participants.


Role Responsibilities:


The primary responsibility of the engagement facilitator is to prepare and lead activities tailored for individuals with dementia during the Dementia Cafes.

Activities may include arts and crafts, sensory experiences, and memory games, with each session lasting for one hour.


As the engagement facilitator, you will:

  • Plan, organize, and lead engaging activities.
  • Motivate and assist individuals with dementia to participate in the activities.
  • Collaborate with volunteers to ensure all participants feel included, comfortable, and supported.
