Lancashire, United Kingdom Gray Healthcare Full time

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Community Engagement Manager to oversee teams providing assistance in specialized residential settings.

The individuals we support have diverse and complex needs, including neurological impairments and mental health conditions. In this role, you will supervise a group of Support Workers at each location, guiding and mentoring them to deliver exceptional care and support, enabling our clients to achieve their fullest potential.

It is essential to promote the health and well-being of your teams while demonstrating effective recruitment and retention strategies. You will foster a positive work-life balance culture and ensure the implementation of a consistent six-week rolling schedule across your services. Additionally, you will be responsible for the financial health of your portfolio and all budgetary considerations.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, supportive management to approximately 20 Support Workers. Leverage data, research, and innovative practices to identify areas for enhancing performance and service delivery. Ensure that each service consistently provides exceptional support to individuals in line with contractual obligations. This includes:
  • Conducting regular evaluations of each individual's support through thorough audits.
  • Monitoring operational and contractual performance.
  • Achieving all Key Performance Indicators.
  • Cultivating a culture of ongoing quality enhancement.
  • Engaging team members in regular supervision and annual evaluations.
  • Facilitating frequent team meetings.
  • Performing spot checks at various times and days, including weekends.
Ensure that safeguarding principles are integral to all discussions and actions.

Essential Skills and Experience

Proven experience in operational management within the Health and Social Care sector. Charismatic leadership style that inspires and motivates, complemented by excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. A client-centered approach to service delivery. Strong understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health complexities, along with the necessary support within the CQC Hospital Directorate Inspection Methodology. Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, evenings, and weekends. Valid UK Driving Licence and access to a reliable vehicle for regular service visits.

Recruitment Process

Comprehensive telephone interview with a Specialist Recruiter to discuss the role and your relevant experience. Verification of Right to Work and Driver credentials. In-person interview with the Head of Operations. Compliance checks, including DBS and reference verification for the past three years.

Induction & Training

We do not expect you to have all the answers upon joining Gray Healthcare. Our onboarding includes an initial week of training that combines online modules (company induction, systems, medication, etc.) followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK, a Positive Behaviour Support approach that prioritizes least restrictive practices.

You will participate in the CSM Development Programme, where a Personal Development Plan will be established alongside our Leadership Skills Development sessions.

Continuous training is provided throughout your career with Gray Healthcare, and we encourage you to pursue professional growth and development.
