Development Assistant

Fawkes & Reece (North) is seeking a skilled Assistant Development Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will provide technical support and information to various departments, assist in issuing tender drawings, and review engineering designs for cost-effectiveness and build ability.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical support and information to construction, commercial, sales, and technical departments.
- Assist in issuing tender drawings to contractors, assessing them upon return, and engaging with pre-award meetings.
- Review engineering designs to ensure their cost-effectiveness and build ability.
- Coordinate as-built surveys and produce adoption drawings in AutoCAD.
- Inspect road and sewer works from commencement to formal adoption by the Local Authority.
- Obtain multi-utility/service connection quotations and assess them with the Engineering Manager.
- Prior to legal completion, ensure driveways and footpaths are completed to agreed standards.
- Answer queries from site on engineering issues with support from the Line Manager.
- Prepare and maintain drawing registers for engineering details and drawings.
- Prepare External Works and Plot Drainage plans using AutoCAD.
- Produce, manage, and monitor a Materials Management Plan for topsoil and subsoil.
- Check and coordinate information from external consultants, suppliers, and manufacturers on engineering-related details.
- HNC/HND (minimum).
- AutoCAD proficient (essential).
- Word/Excel proficient.
- Good engineering knowledge from previous experience in the House Building Sector.
- Commercial awareness.
- Health and safety awareness.
- Ability to work within a busy team environment and autonomously.
