Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Battery Technician to join our team, responsible for carrying out service and repairs to all battery equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional, and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out service and repairs to battery equipment on customer sites, maintaining documentation of all works carried out in line with Health and Safety and Quality procedures.
  • Work to a planned schedule of service and maintenance jobs at customer premises, ensuring van stock is monitored and sufficient for the day-to-day maintenance of the fleet.
  • Diagnose faults to a component level, accurately complete job sheets, timesheets, and purchase requisition and parts paperwork within the required timescales.
  • Take responsibility for all equipment and tooling, ensuring it is in a safe condition for the type of work being undertaken.
  • Work to strict planned schedules and deadlines, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize workloads, and work independently or in a team.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of at least two of the following areas: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, hydraulics, battery, charger, and battery change systems.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, with good communication skills, a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail, and the ability to work to timescales as required.
  • Recent and relevant experience of working in the forklift truck service environment is desirable, but not essential.
