About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Support Worker to join our Endoscopy Department at Tunbridge Wells Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the decontamination of endoscopes and other specialized equipment, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Assist qualified staff with simple accessorizing during procedures, under close supervision.
  • Support the Endoscopist with patient care and preparation for procedures.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and organization of the Endoscopy Department, ensuring a smooth and efficient working environment.

Person Specification

  • Essential qualifications: NVQ/QCF Diploma Level 2 in healthcare, GCSE English and maths grade G/1 or above, and completion of the Care Certificate.
  • Desirable qualifications: Decontamination training, NVQ Level 2 in direct care, and Technicians' Training course in GI Endoscopy.
  • Essential experience: Minimum of 1 year full-time equivalent experience as a Healthcare Support Worker or Trainee in a care setting.
  • Desirable experience: Knowledge of the design and function of endoscopes and decontamination issues.
