Job Title: Waste Services Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Waste Services Manager to lead our in-house waste services team and contribute to the development of our long-term waste strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational service delivery and management of the day-to-day waste service with the support of an experienced management team.
  • Aligning all service and strategic operations to the council's 'Our City, Our Plan' and climate change objectives.
  • Overseeing and developing commercial elements of the service, including paid-for garden waste, trade waste business, and other chargeable services.
  • Contract development and management.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in delivering safe, efficient, and compliant waste collection services, ideally in a local authority setting.
  • Experience in developing and implementing waste strategies and policies for public sector organizations.
  • Good understanding of key drivers and legislation for safe and legal waste collection service operation.
  • Previous experience in working within a political arena and managing waste transfer activities, including household waste centers.
