Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Waste Professional to lead our in-house waste services team and contribute to the development of our long-term waste strategies. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of waste collection services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational service delivery and management of the day-to-day waste service with the support of an experienced management team.
  • Aligning all service and strategic operations to the council's 'Our City, Our Plan' and climate change objectives.
  • Overseeing and developing commercial elements of the service, including paid-for garden waste, trade waste business, and other chargeable services.
  • Contract development and management.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a proven track record in delivering safe, efficient, and compliant waste collection services. You will have excellent communication skills and a good understanding of key drivers and legislation for the safe and legal operation of the waste collection service.

Previous experience of working within a political arena and managing waste transfer activities, including household waste centres, is desirable.
