  1. Formulate, implement, and oversee communication strategies for major initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders to produce content, campaigns, and events that support business objectives and enhance performance.
  2. Build and nurture strong, trusting relationships with key stakeholders, working in partnership to identify, develop, and achieve their internal communication objectives.
  3. Oversee communication efforts that may pose reputational risks or present opportunities for the organization.
  4. Develop a robust network of internal and external contacts, providing guidance and influence to senior management and external industry stakeholders as necessary.
  5. Identify and curate content for internal communication platforms, serving as a liaison for information across communication teams.
  6. Offer advice and guidance on communication activities conducted by key personnel, ensuring alignment with the national communication strategy and adherence to corporate policies.
  7. Ensure all branding utilized adheres to the organization's policy on branding, visual identity, and imagery.
  8. Assess communication initiatives related to projects, evaluating effectiveness and budget utilization to identify areas for improvement during and post-project.
  9. Lead and develop a team, conducting regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, objective setting, and onboarding of contractors as necessary.
  10. Execute the major incident communication plan as required.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential

  • Degree-level education or a professional qualification in communications (e.g., IoIC, CIPR, PRCA) or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Extensive experience in corporate communications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with senior management.
  • Strong influencing capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and advocate for complex and sensitive issues in a clear and rational manner.
  • Capacity to cultivate and maintain a broad network of stakeholder relationships.
  • Evidence of effective planning and financial management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Desirable

  • Experience in directing and managing agency support.
