Job Overview

Barclay Simpson is seeking a highly skilled Investment Risk Specialist to join our team. As an Investment Risk Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our investment strategies by providing risk analysis and insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Monitoring: Track and assess risk exposures for multiple investment portfolios, ensuring that our investment strategies are aligned with our risk tolerance.
  • Data Analysis: Prepare and review risk and performance reports, focusing on key risk metrics to inform investment decisions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our Operations team to ensure data accuracy and resolve reporting issues, ensuring seamless communication across teams.
  • Stakeholder Support: Communicate findings to portfolio managers and analysts, offering insights and refining analysis as needed to support informed investment decisions.
  • Tool Development: Utilize internal and external models to improve risk management processes and develop tools for data management, enhancing our ability to analyze and mitigate risk.
  • Hedging Assistance: Assist in implementing and monitoring investment hedges, ensuring that our investment strategies are aligned with our risk management objectives.
  • Investor Queries: Support the Sales and Client Services teams with responses to investor questions, providing timely and accurate information to maintain investor confidence.

Requirements:

  • Strong Academic Background: A strong academic background in a relevant field, such as finance or economics, is essential for this role.
  • Quantitative Skills: Proficiency in Excel and experience with Python, VBA, and SQL are highly desirable, as is the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop insights.
  • Clear Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to effectively communicate risk analysis and insights to stakeholders.
  • Financial Markets Knowledge: A solid understanding of financial markets and portfolio construction is necessary to support informed investment decisions.
  • Multi-Tasking: The ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines is essential in this fast-paced environment.
