Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Investment Risk Specialist to join our team at Barclay Simpson. As an Investment Risk Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our investment strategies by providing risk analysis and insights.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Risk Monitoring: Track and assess risk exposures for multiple investment portfolios, ensuring that our investment strategies are aligned with our risk tolerance.
  • Data Analysis: Prepare and review risk and performance reports, focusing on key risk metrics to inform investment decisions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our Operations team to ensure data accuracy and resolve reporting issues, ensuring seamless communication across teams.
  • Stakeholder Support: Communicate findings to portfolio managers and analysts, offering insights and refining analysis as needed to support informed investment decisions.
  • Tool Development: Utilize internal and external models to improve risk management processes and develop tools for data management, enhancing our ability to analyze and mitigate risk.
  • Hedging Assistance: Assist in implementing and monitoring investment hedges, ensuring that our investment strategies are aligned with our risk management objectives.
  • Investor Queries: Support the Sales and Client Services teams with responses to investor questions, providing timely and accurate information to maintain investor confidence.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong Academic Background: A solid academic foundation in a relevant field, such as finance or mathematics.
  • Quantitative Skills: Proficiency in Excel and experience with Python, VBA, and SQL are highly desirable.
  • Clear Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Financial Markets Knowledge: A deep understanding of financial markets and portfolio construction, with the ability to analyze and interpret market data.
  • Multi-Tasking: The ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
