Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow in Digital Reaction Engineering to join our team at the University of Leeds. As a key member of our research group, you will play a crucial role in developing automated flow platforms for reaction screening and process optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop modular experimental platforms for high-throughput screening and self-optimising manufacturing processes.
- Integrate liquid handling robotics, continuous flow technology, and inline analytical techniques to enable rapid collection of process relevant data.
- Develop and implement machine learning algorithms for reaction optimisation and mapping of the design space.
- Collaborate with our partners in the pharmaceutical industry to leverage our novel workflow and accelerate lower cost and more sustainable manufacturing of future medicines.
About the Project
This EPSRC funded project brings together expertise from the Universities of Leeds, Liverpool, and Cambridge to create a network of digitally coupled reactors. Our goal is to develop new digital methods that can rapidly respond to emerging health challenges and accelerate the development and optimisation of chemically related processes.
Requirements
- PhD in a relevant field, such as chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in reaction engineering, process optimisation, and machine learning.
- Strong background in experimental design, data analysis, and statistical process control.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
