Research Fellow in Digital Reaction Engineering

Are you a skilled researcher looking to advance your career in a leading research-intensive University?

Join our team at the University of Leeds to develop innovative digital methods for reaction screening and process optimisation. Our EPSRC-funded project combines expertise from top universities to create a network of digitally coupled reactors, enabling high-throughput screening and self-optimising manufacturing processes.

We are seeking a Research Fellow to integrate liquid handling robotics, continuous flow technology, and inline analytical techniques to collect process-relevant data. You will work alongside our team to develop machine learning algorithms for reaction optimisation and design space mapping.

As a Research Fellow, you will contribute to the development of automated flow platforms for reaction screening and process optimisation. You will collaborate with our partners in the pharmaceutical industry to leverage this novel workflow and accelerate lower-cost and more sustainable manufacturing of future medicines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop automated flow platforms for reaction screening and process optimisation
  • Integrate liquid handling robotics, continuous flow technology, and inline analytical techniques
  • Develop machine learning algorithms for reaction optimisation and design space mapping
  • Collaborate with our partners in the pharmaceutical industry

Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant field
  • Experience in flow chemistry and reaction engineering
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or MATLAB
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
