Financial Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team at the Global Wind Energy Council. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, as well as providing financial guidance and support to our international teams.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare regular management accounts, budget performance, and cash flow forecasts for the group and subsidiaries.
- Perform consolidation of the group and lead the accounting for the GWEC parent company.
- Monthly posting to and reconciliation of project fund accounts.
- Prepare monthly accounting close, perform the year-end close, and work with the CFO in preparation of the annual financial statements.
- Oversee weekly payment runs and administer monthly payroll, including overseas jurisdictions.
- Review or prepare VAT returns and manage international cash to ensure funds are available in the required countries and accounts.
- Reconcile relevant Balance Sheet accounts.
- Right to work in the UK and fluency in written and spoken English.
- Qualified CCAB accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIPFA, or AAT (min. level 3 or equivalent) or Masters degree in Accounting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxes, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- 7 or more years of work experience in finance and administration management.
- Great IT skills, including multiple Accounting Systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytic skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience of working in finance in an international organisation.
- Project or fund accounting experience.
- A passion for renewable energies.
