Field Service Engineer needed. Our client is a prestigious firm in the Construction and Industrial machinery sector, specializing in the sale, maintenance, and parts support of heavy equipment. Due to the expansion of their operations, they are seeking a Field Service Engineer.

The successful candidate will deliver onsite technical assistance for a variety of machinery within the designated area, focusing on maintaining optimal performance through regular maintenance, repairs, and inspections. The role primarily involves working with large equipment, including shovels and excavators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues reported by customers regarding equipment.
  • Service a diverse range of machines both on-site and off-site.
  • Work independently to troubleshoot and address problems effectively.
  • Complete job documentation accurately and within specified timeframes.
  • Manage paperwork and timesheets efficiently.
  • Request necessary parts in a timely manner.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external clients.
  • Oversee apprentices as needed to ensure high-quality work and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Comply with relevant procedures during equipment repairs and inspections.
  • Ensure personal and work equipment meets all safety regulations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Take responsibility for the health and safety of oneself, colleagues, and clients in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy.
  • Ensure tools are safe and compliant for use.
Position Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the industry.
  • Ability to investigate and diagnose technical issues, including working at heights and under heavy machinery.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid Driving License.
  • Capability to service a wide range of heavy tracked plant machinery.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Hourly Rate: £17-£18 based on experience.
  • Standard Working Hours: 40 hours per week.
  • Overtime compensation at 1.5x the standard rate.
  • Holiday Entitlement: 22 Days Annual Leave plus 8 Bank Holidays.
  • Company vehicle, mobile device, uniform, and laptop provided.
  • Death in Service benefit: 3 times annual salary.
  • Health Plan, Cycle to Work Scheme, sick pay, free legal advice, and employee incentives.
