Lead Mechanical Project Manager – Competitive Salary (Tax-Free)

As a key player in the organization, you will be stepping into a pivotal position following the retirement of a long-standing team member. The company boasts a strong reputation and maintains excellent relationships with General Contractors, ensuring a steady flow of projects.


The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in Plumbing, Heating, and HVAC, with a preference for experience on projects valued at £10 million or more. Familiarity with refurbishment and retrofit projects will be beneficial, given the limited availability of new construction opportunities.


What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary up to $140,000, depending on experience
  • No income tax (only a 9.5% payroll tax)

Key Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 10 years of extensive experience in construction, design, and cost management as a Mechanical Project Manager or in a similar role within Commercial, Institutional, and Industrial settings.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale projects valued at £10 million and above.
  • Strong estimating skills and knowledge of site surveying, project sequencing, methods, materials practices, and electrical systems.
  • A combination of education, training, and relevant work experience that is equivalent will also be considered.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Develop, review, and implement project documentation, including pre-construction information, schedules, specifications, and drawings.
  • Oversee mechanical contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct project cost analysis, budgeting, and procurement activities.
  • Ensure that agreed timelines and key deadlines are met between clients and contractors.
  • Supervise the correct installation of mechanical services.
  • Monitor work practices, manage subcontractors, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Understand the scope of work, contract terms, change order processes, and closeout requirements.
  • Support commissioning, validation, and final project acceptance.
  • Supervise overall project activities, ensuring adherence to company policies and standards.
  • Maintain logs for change orders, submittals, and drawings.
  • Prepare accurate and timely contract submittals and subcontractor agreements.
  • Compile and deliver Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with project quality control plans.
  • Monitor subcontractor documentation for Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
  • Represent the company in meetings with clients and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with engineers and assist field personnel.
  • Create Job Information Sheets and establish Job Files.
