Serco operates within a secure environment, focusing on the rehabilitation of adult male offenders. The role involves overseeing the effective scheduling and management of purposeful activities within the facility, ensuring that inmates are engaged in suitable programs that align with their rehabilitation plans.
This position is crucial in supporting the implementation of the activity strategy, aimed at enhancing opportunities for inmates to participate in work, education, and training, thereby contributing to their successful reintegration into society.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution and monitoring of the purposeful activity strategy, maximizing inmate engagement in beneficial programs.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Learning and Skills Department.
- Maintain accurate scheduling records within the CMS and local systems, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
- Identify eligible inmates for educational and activity programs, facilitating their enrollment in accordance with established timetables.
- Ensure all activity placements are allocated efficiently, collaborating with team members to maintain a professional work environment.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues across the organization, adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
- Uphold high standards of security and confidentiality regarding all information related to staff and inmates.
- Generate reports as required, maintaining precise records of all actions taken and submitting necessary data for monthly reporting.
Qualifications
Essential:
- GCSE C in Maths and English
Desirable:
- ECDL/IT qualifications
Experience:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with database management
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
