About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Support Specialist to join our team at Sellafield Ltd. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and correct processing of procurement requests for our business area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain awareness of the correct routes of procurement for the supply of goods and services and advise where applicable.
  • Ensure that all new demand requests are reviewed and actioned in a timely manner and tracked through to completion.
  • Ensure that all demand requests comply with SL procurement processes and procedures, and challenge where necessary any non-compliance.
  • Ensure the correct input of data into procurement systems to enable a 'right first time' approach to procurement avoiding any unnecessary delivery delays to the procurement of goods / services.
  • Ensure any items over a set approval threshold are approved by the appropriate nominated person.
  • Assist customers in establishing whether required components are already available to avoid duplication.
  • Expedite high priority spares / components to ensure timely delivery from the supply chain including managing the resolution of invoice queries as and when they arise to avoid any potential delivery or payment delays.
  • Complete the return of goods process with warehousing & suppliers as required.
  • Undertake Contract Administrator role for various sitewide frameworks incl. managing journals.
  • Assist with the training and development of new / junior members of the team.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to advise and challenge individuals proposed decision making using technical knowledge.
  • Ability to deal with internal and external stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise own workload to meet business needs.

  • Meticulous attention to detail in relation to data standards and specifications.

Desirable Skills

  • Proficient in the use of standard company IT systems and applications.
  • Experience of working in a high-pressured environment with the requirement to meet tight deadlines.
  • Evidence of building and maintaining effective working relationships, at all levels of an organisation in order to deliver a support service, exchange information, provide advice, and manage query and problem resolution.
  • Questioning and analytical mind set with respect to gathering and using data.
