About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our CAMHS team as a Non-Medical Prescribing Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality care to children and young people with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess, formulate, and deliver treatment options for children and young people with mental health needs.
  • Provide expert advice and support to other clinicians, acting as a source of expertise in non-medical prescribing.
  • Prescribe for the mental health needs of clients, managing drug-related complications within their own sphere of competence.
  • Promote clinical excellence by complying with agreed Trust and statutory policies and clinical guidance, while maintaining own clinical competencies in this role.
  • Work in close collaboration with medical personnel regarding prescribing protocols, policies, and clinical guidelines.
  • Develop and deliver clinical management plans for clients, working closely with the independent prescriber as necessary.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Postgraduate study to Masters Level or equivalent in a field related to nursing in mental health and/or learning disability.
  • Experience of working as a non-medical prescriber and in senior roles in care of children and young people with mental health needs and/or learning disability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • A current driving license and access to a car during the working day (reasonable adjustments will be considered for any applicants who are unable to drive due to a disability).
