Job Title: Shop Assistant

Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and personable Shop Assistant to enhance our retail environment. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering outstanding customer service, ensuring the store remains inviting, and facilitating daily operational tasks. Your enthusiasm and readiness to assist will contribute significantly to a positive shopping experience for our clientele.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Welcome customers with a friendly demeanor and provide them with detailed product insights, suggestions, and assistance with purchases.
  • Manage the checkout process, accurately handle transactions, and maintain proper cash handling procedures.
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Restock merchandise on the sales floor and set up displays in line with company guidelines.
  • Assist in the receiving, unpacking, and organization of new inventory in the storeroom.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Encourage customers to take advantage of ongoing promotions, special deals, and loyalty programs.
  • Keep track of inventory levels and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet sales objectives and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all store policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in retail or customer service is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic math skills for transaction processing and inventory management.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
