Senior Cardiac Catheter Lab Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cardiac Catheter Lab Nurse to join our award-winning specialist cardiology team at Spire Nottingham Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and development of our cardiac service.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cardiac nurse to take on a senior leadership role, supporting and leading our experienced cardiac team to ensure our patients receive the highest levels of care. You will work across various areas of the hospital, including cardiology pre-assessment, cardiac catheter lab, cardiac outpatients, theatres, and supporting the wards with cardiac patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and lead the cardiac team to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Work across various areas of the hospital, including cardiology pre-assessment, cardiac catheter lab, and cardiac outpatients
  • Support the Cardiology consultants in clinics and utilise inter-departmental communication skills to support cardiology patients throughout their journey
  • Undertake clinical procedures that require dexterity and accuracy, including scrubbing for complex interventional cardiology procedures and assisting with implantation of IABP, TAVI, and complex devices
  • Support the non-invasive cardiology services within the Outpatient Department and provide cardiology support to ward and critical care patients
  • Prepare operating theatres and anaesthetic rooms for procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and in working order
  • Run a cardiology list without supervision and supervise/mentor junior staff
Requirements

We are looking for an experienced cardiac nurse with a strong background in cardiology, ideally with previous senior experience. You will need to be a current NMC registered nurse with no restrictions on practice, ALS trained, and capable of working on your own initiative. Excellent organisational skills and a flexible approach to work are essential.
