Job Title: Senior Cardiac Catheter Lab Nurse - Bank

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cardiac Catheter Lab Nurse to join our team at Spire Healthcare Ltd. As a Senior Nurse, you will play a crucial role in supporting and leading our experienced cardiac team to ensure our patients receive the highest levels of care.

About the Role:

This is a bank position, working on a flexible basis to cover busy periods, sickness or annual leave. You will work across various areas of the hospital, including cardiology pre-assessment, cardiac catheter lab, cardiac outpatients, theatres and supporting the wards with cardiac patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the Cardiology consultants in clinics
  • Utilizing inter-departmental communication skills to support cardiology patients throughout the Spire Healthcare journey
  • Undertaking clinical procedures requiring dexterity and accuracy, including scrubbing for complex interventional cardiology procedures and assisting with implantation of IABP, TAVI and complex devices
  • Supporting non-invasive cardiology services in the Outpatient Department and acting as a subject matter expert to other staff
  • Providing cardiology support to ward and critical care patients and acting as a subject matter expert to other staff
  • Preparing operating Hybrid theatre/anaesthetic room/outpatient cardiology suite for procedures, ensuring waste is kept to a minimum and all necessary equipment is available and in working order
  • Running a cardiology list without supervision and supervising/mentoring junior staff (subject to experience)
  • Performing duties supporting all cardiology functions within the hospital
Requirements:
  • Current NMC registration with no restrictions on practice
  • At least 3 years' experience within a cardiac catheter lab scrubbing for routine and complex cardiology procedures, including EPS ablation
  • ALS trained
  • Capable and confident, with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Flexible approach to work and working patterns
  • Previous scrub experience is essential, with experience with EPS Ablation being a distinct advantage
