Job Summary:

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde is seeking a skilled Health Records Administrator to provide an efficient Health Records service to patients, medical and nursing staff. The successful candidate will ensure patient appointments are administered and processed accurately, and patient health records remain confidential and securely stored.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and process patient appointments for outpatient clinics, day cases, and inpatient admissions
  • Maintain electronic and paper-based patient records systems, providing confidential, accurate, and up-to-date information
  • Update patient demographic and administrative data through continual checking and updating of the patient management system
  • Provide administrative, clerical, and receptionist services to support effective clinical care

Requirements:

  • 3 standard grades or equivalent, with one being English or good general education coupled with good office experience
  • Previous clerical experience required
  • Computer literate with good keyboard skills
  • Previous reception experience along with good communication skills required
  • Prior experience of using a Patient Management System (PMS) would be desirable

Working Arrangements:

This is a fixed-term position of 12 months. The shift pattern for this role is Monday to Thursday, 08:30 to 16:30, and Friday, 08:30 to 16:30. The successful candidate may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period.
