Job Summary

The Maternity and Neonatal Partnership Lead will act as a conduit between service users and staff across the Integrated Care Board, facilitating the exchange of thoughts and feelings to drive change and improvement in maternity and neonatal services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver the objectives of the Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership as outlined in the annual workplan, using influence to drive effective and visible outcomes.
  • Represent the partnership at local, regional, and national meetings and events, providing independent challenge and scrutiny based on evidence gathered from parents, carers, and professionals.
  • Assist professionals in engaging with pregnant women, service users, parents, and their families to enable authentic co-production and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the development and management of programmes and workstreams, taking the lead in their successful delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with providers, commissioners, and local system partners to ensure the voices of families are heard and valued.
  • Seek to understand and feedback the voices of families to influence quality, safety, and productivity in maternity and neonatal services, particularly for marginalized and disadvantaged groups.
  • Act as a leader for change and a critical friend to professionals, ensuring all activities and plans are effective, evidence-based, and reflective of feedback from service users.
  • Recruit and induct volunteer service users, providing them with access to appropriate training to support the partnership's workplan.
  • Attend and chair formal partnership meetings, ensuring all stakeholders can contribute and participate.
  • Stay aware of national reports, guidance, and policy to ensure local work aligns with and delivers required outcomes.
