Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Adler and Allan Group. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of fuel tanks and related equipment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Maintenance: Plan and install all elements of fuel tanks, including tank cleaning, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Decommissioning and Removal: Participate in the decommissioning of fuel tanks and installations, ensuring all necessary safety protocols are followed.
  • Pipe Work and Installation: Install and manage all types of pipe work, including steel and plastic pipes, and provide professional assessment and plans for such works.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Carry out PPM tasks and provide specialist input to support the planning of PPM contracts.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and manage a team of technicians when required, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Customer Liaison: Liaise with customers on site to discuss ongoing works and further services offered by the Company.
  • Administrative Tasks: Accurately complete all works paperwork and submit in a timely manner to the FIS office.
  • Vehicle Operations: Operate Company vehicles, ensuring all vehicle checks are undertaken prior to commencing any works, and report any vehicle defects to supervision.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure the security of all Company vehicles and equipment, and check that all equipment is fit for purpose and used correctly.
  • Health and Safety: Work in accordance with Health and Safety requirements and the Group H&S policy, including provided Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS documentation).


Requirements:

  • Technical Knowledge: Proven ability to carry out key tasks, with a wide range of technical knowledge including experience across several industry sectors.
  • Specialist Training: Relevant specialist training such as OFTEC and/or Fuel Pump Maintenance.
  • Equipment Knowledge: Working knowledge of all equipment associated with fuel storage, monitoring, and dispensing.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication to different groups.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt during busy times and ensure consistency of service.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to undertake additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers.
