About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Egger, a leading wood recycler. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining our plant equipment, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on plant and equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Liaise with the Operations Manager to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Act as the first point of contact for repairs and maintenance work, arranging and monitoring contractors as needed.
  • Carry out any routine maintenance on plant and equipment, ensuring all tasks are conducted in a safe working manner.
  • Manage external service providers and contractors, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
  • Support the planning, installation, and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring seamless integration into our operations.
  • Ensure all maintenance and related tasks are conducted in a safe working manner, reporting any incidents or hazards.
  • Assist in the planning and development of infrastructure on site, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy maintenance workshop and stores, contributing to a positive working environment.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Fabrication experience, including various welding techniques such as MIG and Arc.
  • FLT Licence (training can be provided).
  • Supervisory experience or experience managing external contractors.
  • Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Intermediate standard of IT skills and competent use of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Well-organized and efficient.
