Job Overview

Main Purpose of Role

SGS is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth within the Food Contact and Packaging segments of our UK business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of existing accounts and generating new business opportunities to expand our presence in these sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a business growth strategy to increase revenue within the Food Contact and Packaging segments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure SGS remains a leader in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification industry.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably within the Testing, Inspection, and Certification industry.
  • Strong commercial skills, including the ability to identify business opportunities and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on results and customer satisfaction.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Education to first-degree level or equivalent, or direct experience in the Consumer or supplier industries.
  • Strong understanding of the Food Contact market and packaging testing requirements.
  • Technical sales/business development experience.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and CRM software.
