About the Role

We are seeking an Undergraduate Research Assistant to join our New Categories R&D Sustainability team in Southampton. As a key member of our team, you will support the Life Cycle Analysis of our New Category products and contribute to our efforts to reduce the environmental impact of our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Life Cycle Analysis of BAT's New Category products
  • Process data and conduct trend analysis on the environmental impact of our New Category products
  • Update key performance metrics on circularity
  • Support design teams with alternative materials and designs for lower carbon initiatives

Requirements

  • Students working towards an undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Biology, Material or Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Data analysis and attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Environmental and sustainability knowledge, as well as a passion for sustainability
