Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to become a vital member of our dedicated and supportive team.

Role Expectations:

The ideal candidate will be a passionate and committed PWP eager to grow within the role, contributing to the delivery of exceptional mental health care in our community.

Caseload Management:

PWPs at West London Mental Health Trust manage a balanced caseload, with flexibility for additional responsibilities. We value diversity in the PWP role to enhance both your personal wellbeing and professional development, while also ensuring the service meets its demands and engages clients effectively.

Benefits:

Upon successful completion of induction, PWPs will benefit from a structured preceptorship and development plan, five paid Continuing Professional Development (CPD) days annually, regular in-service training, and standard NHS benefits. Additionally, we organize team events, away days, and social activities to foster a collaborative environment.

Career Development:

Once employed, PWPs will receive support for advancement towards managerial or clinical roles at Band 6, 7, or 8a, whether within or outside the PWP profession. This support includes regular line management, performance appraisals, and various development opportunities.

Team Involvement:

Senior and lead PWPs within our service play an integral role in the senior management team, ensuring that wellbeing, development, and value are prioritized. Our PWPs are recognized as essential, supported members of the West London Talking Therapies team.

Clinical Responsibilities:

Clinical expectations include:

  • 6 triage assessments (1 hour each) per week
  • 22 GSH treatment sessions (30 minutes each) per week

Total Clinical Work: 17 hours per week, subject to change based on service needs. This role involves collaboration with interpreters, caregivers, and other external professionals.

Additional Duties:

In addition to managing your caseload, you will participate in meetings and complete administrative tasks, with adjustments for supervision, group facilitation, or project management roles, including at least one evening session per week.

Work Environment:

All staff are currently expected to work two days in the office and three days remotely, with the possibility of changes based on service requirements.

Qualifications:

Experience in risk management and assessment, as well as Step 2 treatment of appropriate disorders in Talking Therapies, is essential. We are committed to bridging any experience gaps through our comprehensive CPD and supervision programs, providing ongoing support through debriefing and a duty system.
