This role presents a unique chance within our secured litigation division to represent clients in property transactions involving the sale of repossessed residential properties, from initial instruction through to completion, including shared ownership cases, all while adhering to established timelines.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Manage all facets of the residential property process on behalf of clients and mortgage lenders dealing with repossessed properties.
  • Prepare memos of sale and auction documentation.
  • Review property titles upon client instruction and provide comprehensive title reports.
  • As a residential property paralegal, you will communicate effectively with clients and solicitors.
  • Draft, review, and distribute sales contracts and related documents.
  • Address client inquiries, offer status updates, and keep all parties informed throughout the sales process.
  • Coordinate with asset managers to ensure seamless transactions.
  • Facilitate timely exchange of contracts.
  • Handle post-sale activities, including the distribution of surplus funds when applicable.

Candidate Qualifications for Residential Property Paralegals

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs, including at least a C grade in English and Mathematics
  • Experience with the Scottish property transaction process
  • Able to work collaboratively and independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Solid understanding of legal principles and the legal system
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Familiarity with electronic document management systems
  • High level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Meticulous attention to detail and research capabilities

Desirable Skills

  • Law degree or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in a legal environment within financial services
  • Background in the legal sector or in-house with a leading financial services firm

Additional Information

Training will be conducted remotely, with travel expenses covered by the company. Following successful training completion, candidates will be eligible for flexible working arrangements.
