We are seeking a proactive and experienced HR & Payroll Advisor to join our client. This role, reporting directly to the Finance Manager, is crucial for managing and enhancing the employee life cycle, from onboarding to succession planning.
Key Responsibilities:HR Responsibilities:- Handle initial HR queries and escalate as necessary, ensuring high-quality service.
- Collaborate with departments to ensure policies are understood and followed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Provide advice on employment law and ensure compliance.
- Manage grievances and disciplinary actions in line with company policies.
- Offer support and advice on various employee issues.
- Ensure accurate recording and administration of contract changes.
- Draft HR letters including disciplinary actions, amendments to terms, reference letters, etc.
- Participate in and contribute to HR projects as required.
- Attend and take notes at meetings when required.
- Ensure compliance with right to work policies and HR compliance regulations.
- Manage bi-weekly and monthly payroll processing.
- Oversee the time and attendance software and generate timesheet reports for approval.
- Accurately input all payroll-related data.
- Handle HMRC documentation (P45, P60, etc.) and manage attachments of earnings and statutory deductions.
- Administer the company's auto-enrolment pension scheme.
- Oversee company benefits and liaise with HMRC and pension advisors.
- Maintain payroll processing system and records, handling data input, discrepancies, and confidentiality.
- Address staff questions regarding wages, deductions, and attendance.
- Follow payroll policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payroll records.
- Complete payroll reports for internal record-keeping and managerial review.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in HR and payroll, with a background in stand-alone or autonomous roles preferred.
- Qualifications: Level 3 qualification in HR or payroll, or working towards this qualification.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, confident in guiding and influencing management, with the ability to challenge and impact internal decision-making.
