BSL Teaching Assistant Opportunity

Parker Smith Inclusion is working with a mainstream secondary school to find a BSL Teaching Assistant to support a child on a 1:1 basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant with BSL skills to develop their expertise in a secondary school setting, with potential for career progression.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support a child who is deaf in a 1:1 setting
  • Use BSL Level 2 or above to communicate with the child
  • Work with the school to develop strategies to support the child's learning
  • Build strong relationships with the child, teachers, and other staff
Requirements:
  • BSL Level 2 or above
  • Experience supporting young people who are deaf in a school environment or personal experience
  • Commitment to working with the school to develop strategies to support the child's learning
