BSL Learning Support Assistant Role

We are working with a large and diverse primary school in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets who are looking to recruit a BSL Learning Support Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of deaf students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting students with special educational needs in a primary school setting
  • Using British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate with students and staff
  • Assisting with lesson planning and delivery to ensure inclusive learning experiences
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to provide a comprehensive support service
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with students, parents, and carers to ensure effective communication and support
Requirements:
  • BSL Level 2 qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working with and supporting students with special educational needs
  • Passion and enthusiasm for helping children to overcome learning barriers
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
