We are seeking a qualified BSL Teaching Assistant to join our team in Tower Hamlets. As a BSL Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the education of children with hearing impairment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the classroom teacher in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum education.
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with hearing impairment, using British Sign Language (BSL) as necessary.
  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the class, including preparing materials and resources.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
Requirements:
  • Level 1 BSL qualification or above (Signature / CACDP)
  • Experience working with children/young people with Special Educational Needs
  • Ability to relay BSL from hearing impaired students to non-signing students
  • Dedication to ensuring pupils make good, sustained progress
