The PRU provides a supportive and inclusive environment for 11- to 16-year-olds with social, emotional and mental health challenges. Our team works closely with pupils, teachers, and learning assistants to provide a personalized curriculum that addresses their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide social support and guidance to pupils in a small group setting
- Collaborate with teachers and learning assistants to develop and implement personalized learning plans
- Support pupils in developing their literacy skills, personal development, and academic subjects
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment
Requirements:
- Passion for making a positive impact on individuals' lives
- Studying social work or teaching and seeking hands-on experience
- Desire to understand and address unique challenges faced by individuals
- Ability to collaborate effectively with professionals and students
- Empathy, creativity, and dedication to your work
Ideal but Not Essential:
- Experience supporting young people with mental health difficulties
- Previous experience working in a school, PRU, or alternative provision
