About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver effective treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and treat patients with mental health conditions in a community setting
- Undertake urgent and routine psychiatric assessments, providing advice and consultation to members of the multidisciplinary team
- Liaise with GPs, other healthcare professionals, and non-NHS organisations to ensure effective care coordination
- Develop and implement treatment plans, ensuring timely and effective documentation and communication of clinical decisions
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to the development of care plans and strategies
Requirements
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
- Full registration with the GMC, with a licence to practise at the time of appointment
- Approved clinician status, with the ability to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- Experience of assessing and treating patients in a community setting, with a strong understanding of mental health conditions and treatment options
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
