Position: Safety and Compliance Officer

Location: Biggin Hill

Salary: £45k +

Working Hours: Monday - Friday

Work Arrangement: Hybrid available

Talent Engineering is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Safety and Compliance Officer.

Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Lead the management of the AOC and ATO Audit Plan, acting as the principal auditor.
  • Conduct Internal Audits and assessments of subcontractor organizations, focusing on AOC and ATO compliance.
  • Oversee the resolution and closure of audit findings and observations.
  • Prepare and analyze Compliance Monitoring performance metrics.
  • Create audit checklists within Centrik, specifically for AOC and ATO evaluations.
  • Assist in the approval process of Providers to enhance operational and training support.
  • Proactively address compliance concerns with all levels of Company management and staff.
  • Provide expert advice on compliance-related matters.
  • Support external audit processes.
  • Act as a deputy for the Head of Safety and Compliance in their absence regarding AOC and ATO matters.

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Champion a culture of safety, ensuring it remains at the forefront of all operations.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Safety and Compliance and the Safety Reporting Manager to promote aviation safety across all functions.
  • Conduct investigations and root cause analyses related to operational and training safety incidents.
  • Facilitate the identification, documentation, and management of hazards through comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Assist in the collection and monitoring of safety performance data and Safety Performance Indicators.
  • Support the Safety Reporting Manager in the coordination of Safety Action Groups.
  • Contribute to the development of Safety Documentation, Information, Notices, and Newsletters.
  • Help design and deliver safety training programs, including recurrent training in collaboration with other safety department personnel.
  • Offer guidance on safety issues.

Highly Desirable Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with CAA Regulations related to Operations and Management Systems.
  • Trained Auditor with experience in conducting internal audits for CAA/EASA Regulations.
  • Experience in incident investigation (Trained Investigator).
  • Proficient in using Centrik for Safety and Compliance management.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a safety or compliance role within the helicopter industry.
  • At least 5 years of experience in flight or ground operations, maintenance, or continuing airworthiness management in a helicopter company.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ability to enhance the safety culture and earn the respect of colleagues through effective situation management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of human and organizational factors.
  • Minimum of 5 years in flight or ground operations, maintenance, or continuing airworthiness management in an aviation-related organization.
  • Willingness to undertake necessary training to achieve competency in safety and compliance tasks.
