About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Port Operative to join our team at Stafforce. As a Port Operative, you will play a crucial role in supporting the UK's supply chain from discharge to distribution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the loading and unloading of cargo from ships and other vessels
  • Operate various types of equipment, including forklift trucks, payloaders, shovels, tugs, and mobile harbour cranes
  • Conduct stock counts and maintain accurate records
  • Participate in industrial cleaning and maintenance activities
  • Assist with traffic management and vehicle operations
Requirements
  • Health and Safety conscious at all times
  • Team player committed to ensuring the completion of works in a safe and timely manner
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Keen to learn new skills
  • Comfortable working outside in all weathers
Desirable Qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Valid or expired Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence
  • HGV licence
  • Valid or expired Payloader/Shovel Licence
  • Experience in similar roles, such as port operative, stevedore, CSCS labourer, plant driver, forklift driver, shovel driver, vehicle banksman, slinger banksman, crane driver, quarry operative, warehouse operative, weighbridge
  • Previous experience working with commodities such as Steel, 1t Bags or Timber
  • Experience operating a radio
