We are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team at Samworth Brothers Limited. As a key member of our environmental team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our operations are environmentally sustainable and compliant with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement environmental strategies, compliance processes, and procedures to ensure alignment with our environmental policy commitments.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of our Environmental Management System (EMS) to support certification to ISO 14001.
- Work with our SHE Manager to promote a positive environmental culture through education, training, and coaching to improve environmental performance.
- Coordinate and support management of stakeholder relationships, including the Environment Agency, customers, and local community, to ensure no major non-conformance issues.
- Identify performance improvement opportunities for our SHE Manager and Site Management teams to deliver projects that achieve targets and improve risk rating and cost efficiency.
- Previous environmental experience, ideally gained within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience of being involved in ISO 14001 verification audits.
- Up-to-date knowledge of environmental legislation.
- Experience in report writing.
- Understanding/awareness of basic business financial reporting/interpretation.
- Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels.
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
