About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to take on the strategic lead role in driving the development of our Occupational Therapy services at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking individual to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care. As the Professional Lead for Occupational Therapy, you will be responsible for operational management and professional leadership, working closely with the Divisional Director of Allied Health Professions.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Occupational Therapy, with experience in managing budgets, delivering efficiency savings, and leading teams. They will also have a sound understanding of Clinical Governance and Risk Management processes, as well as the ability to lead, motivate, and influence individuals both within and external to the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational management of Occupational Therapy services, including budget management and financial planning
  • Professional leadership and development of Occupational Therapy staff, including training and education
  • Strategic development and implementation of Occupational Therapy services, including service redesign and improvement
  • Clinical governance and risk management, including compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Communication and stakeholder liaison, including representation of the Trust at external meetings and events
Person Specification
  • State Registered Occupational Therapist, 1st Level Degree
  • Current HCPC registration, UK
  • Masters level qualification or evidence of postgraduate study
  • Management qualification or additional short courses to evidence experience
