Position Overview
Are you dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges?
As a Senior Psychiatric Consultant at Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT), you will spearhead a dynamic team and deliver exceptional care to the diverse populations of the region.
This role is community-focused, allowing you to work collaboratively with two other consultants within the South Kent Coast Community Mental Health Teams. We also have opportunities available in other areas.
Ideal candidates will possess MRCPsych or an equivalent qualification and be either on or within six months of being included in the Specialist Register. You should hold full registration with the GMC, along with Approved Clinician status and S12 approval under the Mental Health Act (or be able to achieve this within three months of your appointment).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership within the South Kent Coastal Community Mental Health Team, collaborating with two other Consultant colleagues.
- Deliver medical input as necessary for patients under the care of the Community Mental Health Team.
- Actively engage in fostering relationships with external organizations, including local health authorities.
- Take a proactive leadership role in the screening and assessment of new referrals, working jointly with other team members.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months.
- Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
- Holds a valid UK driving licence or provides evidence of proposed alternative.
Desirable
- Additional clinical qualifications.
- In good standing with GMC.
