Job Title: Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist to join our team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. As a Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing senior medical support and guidance to our multidisciplinary teams, working directly with children and young people with mental health needs, and participating in the on-call rota.

About the Role

This is a replacement, substantive, full-time post with 10 PAs, 7.5 PA DCC, and 2.5 SPA. You will join a team of experienced professionals and have the opportunity to influence future direction, treatment, and models of care in the area. You will be expected to work collaboratively with other health and social professionals, and agencies, to provide high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team.
  • Work directly with children and young people with mental health needs.
  • Participate in the on-call rota.
  • Support your peers and team leader, and be an effective team member.
  • Commit to collaborative working, actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals, and agencies.
Person Specification
  • CCT or equivalent.
  • Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it.
  • Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it.
  • Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST.
Clinical Experience
  • Mastery in the management of a broad range of mental disorders under children, including neurodevelopment disorders.
  • Experience in managing patients from different cultural backgrounds.
Knowledge
  • Extensive knowledge of the biological, psychological, and social determinants of mental health disorders.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of recent DH documentation and NICE Guidelines.
Clinical Skills
  • Excellent clinical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
