Nuclear Safety Case Specialist

Salary: Competitive salary package, including a base salary of GBP60,000+ (dependent on experience) and additional benefits.
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Safety Case Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and authoring nuclear substantiation documentation, reviewing calculations and analysis work, and supporting periodic review of safety. The role requires a high level of autonomy and the ability to work closely with Human Factors, Site Safety Case, and Engineering Authority Teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and author nuclear substantiation documentation to support the site safety case.
- Review calculations and analysis work to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support periodic review of safety to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Take ownership of deliverables and demonstrate a high level of autonomy.
- Provide support for the implementation of substantiation requirements.
- Work closely with Human Factors, Site Safety Case, and Engineering Authority Teams to ensure effective collaboration.
- Support the development of other Nuclear Substantiation team members.
- Collaborate with the wider business on Nuclear substantiation-related activities.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Experience of Nuclear Safety or Safety Case Analysis.
- Experience in Nuclear, other high-hazard, or highly regulated industries.
- Ability to produce high-quality technical reports.
- Determined in driving all deliverable-associated activities through due process.
- Excellent stakeholder management.
Desirable:
- Broad understanding of multiple engineering disciplines.
- Chartered Engineer from the Engineering Council and a member of a relevant professional body.
- Degree qualified in a STEM subject.
