Position Overview

An excellent opportunity has emerged for a skilled Medication Management Specialist eager to enhance their expertise in a Primary Care setting.

As a vital member of the Red Kite Health Solutions team, you will collaborate within a GP, cluster-based group dedicated to advancing the health and wellness of the South Powys community. Your role will focus on supporting our mission to optimize safe and cost-effective prescribing practices, thereby improving the quality of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance of Red Kite Health Solutions, and in partnership with GP practices, you will:

  • Conduct medication reconciliation following established protocols to enhance the efficiency of repeat prescriptions.
  • Implement timely updates to patient medical records in accordance with practice guidelines.
  • Provide comprehensive advice to GPs, staff, and patients regarding medication safety and effective prescribing.
  • Support administrative personnel in the preparation of repeat prescriptions, ensuring adherence to practice policies.
  • Contribute to the development of a Medicines Management Policy aimed at achieving prescribing quality and financial targets.
  • Engage in the review and enhancement of repeat prescribing protocols to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Proactively manage prescription handling, assessing risks and recommending improvements.
  • Participate in medication audits and support recall initiatives.
  • Assist in monitoring prescribing budgets and preparing evidence-based resources to promote cost-effective prescribing.

Administrative Duties

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Ensuring effective communication and data management within the practice.
  • Promoting a safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
