About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our Adult Social Care Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Service. As an AMHP, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with mental health needs, working closely with our health colleagues in Devon Partnership Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out assessments and tasks within the scope of the Mental Health Act, including consideration under s13 and the making of applications to detain people.
  • Use Guardianship and Community Treatment Orders to support well-being in the community and Social Supervision work under Part 4 of the MHA.
  • Work closely with Local Authority Adult Social Care Teams, providing advice and support with complex practice issues.
  • Contribute to Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) working, safeguarding meetings, and joint visits with Social Care staff.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a registered Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or Mental Health Nurse with a proven commitment to professional development and experience of working with people in mental health crises.

You should either hold current AMHP approval, be prepared to submit a portfolio to be re-approved in-line with Devon County Council's policies, or be willing to undertake the specialist AMHP training course.
