Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical Future Concepts team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of mechanical systems and sub-systems for our missile designs and prototypes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and optimization of mechanical systems and sub-systems for major projects and R&D initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the development of mechanical designs and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in mechanical design, including electronic packaging and thermal management.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and contribute to the development of best practices and standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the team's technical expertise remains current.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in mechanical design, including a strong understanding of electronic packaging and thermal management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the business.
  • Relevant experience with 3D CAD/CAE tools, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
Benefits
  • Competitive Salary: Up to £60,000 (dependent on experience)
